The upper level low pressure system that has plagued our area for nearly a week has shifted east into eastern Arkansas this afternoon, and will weaken and accelerate east tonight. Widely scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm or two will continue into early this evening before waning with the setting of the sun. An upper level ridge of high pressure will then build over Northwest Arkansas from the west Friday into this weekend, with temperatures gradually warming. The upper level ridge of high pressure will remain parked over our area through much of next week, with dry weather continuing and temperatures warming.
